A click here, a search there, a browse on this page -- sometimes it can take more than a few flicks of the wrist and finger taps to get your daily dose of video. Luckily, YouTube Leanback wants you to conserve your energy for actually watching more videos. Mmm...more videos...Just as its name implies, YouTube Leanback is all about letting you sit back, relax and be entertained. Videos tailored to your interests play as soon as you visit the site and they play in full screen and high definition, continuously. There's no need to click, search, or browse, unless you want to, of course. Watching YouTube becomes as easy as watching TV. To see what we mean, go to www.youtube.com/leanback, and you'll note that a selection of videos -- your feed -- plays immediately. This feed is based on your YouTube settings and preferences, including content from your subscriptions and videos your friends are sharing on Facebook (assuming you've connected your YouTube account to your Facebook account). You can also watch the most popular comedy, entertainment, news, or more. And if you don't care for the video that's playing, use the right arrow key on your keyboard to skip ahead to the next video, or try the up/down arrows to search, access player controls, and browse channels and videos. You won't need your mouse for this experience. Here's more about how YouTube Leanback works (we'll also show you how to hook up your Facebook account):YouTube Leanback is currently in beta, but we'd love for you to try it out at www.youtube.com/leanback and let us know what it's like to kick back and revel in the endless stream of YouTube entertainment!Kuan Yong, Senior Product Manager, recently watched “Life In A Day.”
Hi Kuan, a great idea in principal, but how do I rate, comment, favourite and share a video? I suggest an area of the screen where I can hover the mouse pointer and a pop up window appears where I can do all those things - YouTube is not all about watching, but interacting too! Also this week I see you guys have been experimenting with a Timeline idea on the homepage like on Facebook and Twitter, please don't replace all the modules like Most Popular with this, but if you do procede with a Timeline then I suggest a Lists feature to make it easier to keep tabs on the people I watch. Thanks for continuing to evolve! ajdpadbury
there should be an option for leanback to just randomly shuffle your favourites... been hoping for a feature like this forever.

Yay, now we don't even have to click... seriously? Is anyone lazy enough to need a feature where they let the videos browse themselves? If this keeps up the human race is just going to stop.

When I watched a video from my subscription box this black bar appeared under the video (the leanback thing). How do i turn it off?
I really do NOT like this feature at all, it takes away a lot of my screen, it pops up almost everytime I want to switch tabs or browser windows, it looks absolutely horrible and gives me the impression you didn't know where to put it, this grey bar is like a foreign object. With all the advertising and the "new" youtube skin PLUS Leanback-bar, youtube looks way too overloaded. What really really really annoys me is the fact that I'm prevented from interacting with the community, due to the fact I'm so pissed because I always have to click on the stupid bar to hide it. Reason for being pissed: If I stop a video, because I want to reply to a comment, and therefore I need to scroll through the comments to find the right one, this stupid bar pops up and hides the complete comment section! EVERY F'N TIME! And because of "Leanback" a lot of video won't even play.Is "Leanback" really necessary? I don't think so. If I want to "leanback" and chill, I put a bluray in the player and sit on the couch. I'll never ever sit in an uncomfortable chair after hours of work (where I had to sit in an uncomfortable chair the whole time) for relaxing- this idea will never work for me.I use youtube because of the community aspect. I love to interact with other people, I love to read through comments and I love to take my time to respond to other users. Communication is the reason why I use the internet, but automating takes away all the interaction. Pls give us an option to completely turn off this whole feature in general, I don't want to see this improvement for the worse anymore. I want to have the choice to watch my subscriptions (btw. the sub box is broken... I can't x the vids I don't want to see) in any order, when I want, for how long I want."Leanback" took away all the fun I had with youtube in the last five years. :(
