I really like everything except the new comments layout - since all replies are no longer indented and are just lumped in with all the other comments, it looks cluttered and becomes harder to spot if there's a comment thread occurring. The new "@username" thing, although maybe initially thought of as a handy solution to this, isn't; YouTube isn't Twitter. All good comments sections on any other site rely on indented replies, why should YT break this norm?
the comments ox provoked more conversations when it was under existing comments as this gave people a chance to quickly see other users comments before they shared their own. Will this really help users get into conversations - or will it simply drive the number of inane comments up as the box is quicker to find?
Have the youtube developers actually been reading most of the comments youtubers have given regarding the new layout??? Most people hate it and would love the option to change back to the old layout. Some features are good, for example the "like" "dislike" option instead of the ratings, but in general the layout - especially in the comments section - is a complete mess. And why is there no option to see ratings on comments unless they are "highest rated" ? In my opinion the designers need to begin to actually pay attention to what Youtubers are telling them.
I think it's shit and can you change the video above with this guy talking so fast it is so irritating what a dick!! Bring back the rating system please, it was a lot easier sorting out the bad from the good!!
